29 April will see Bawtry Retail Association host the sixth Visit Bawtry Race Evening at Doncaster Racecourse and the very first ‘Ladies Evening’ which has been introduced to launch this year’s Ladies Day at the St Leger Festival. An expected 8,000 racegoers will attend the evening which will include the Visit Bawtry Best Dressed Lady competition, of which the winner of the competition will go straight into the Ladies Day best dressed lady final at the St Leger Festival; a fast track social media competition, allowing ladies to enter the Visit Bawtry Best Dressed Lady Competition on facebook in advance of the race evening; Text competitions throughout the evening, with giveaways from Bawtry Retailers Association members and Doncaster Racecourse; Ladies Evening roving presenter and camera team, broadcasting live to the big screen plus lots more.
Gates open at 1530 with the 1st race at 1730 and this year’s races will be sponsored by Bawtry’s Crown Hotel, China Rose, Fine & Country, Origin Broadband, Deluxe Hair & Beauty Lounge, Ziniz Restaurant & Wine Bar and Eastside Magazine. Each business will select the Best Turned Out Horse for their sponsored race and also enjoy presenting the winner’s trophy in the Winners Enclosure. In addition, BRA members and friends will enjoy exclusive use of the Conduit Suite.
The event will finish with a glamourous After-Racing party in Bawtry with over 20 stylish bars and fantastic individual restaurants waiting to serve you plus there will be live music at several venues for the perfect party atmosphere including Bawtry’s Bar & Brasserie’s resident saxophonist plus local jazz and swing singer, Max Bowker and vocalist Mary Brett who will be performing in the Crown bar from 8pm.
