Men’s swimwear is vastly under represented and whilst on a holiday in Ibiza in 2014 two brothers from Doncaster decided to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test resulting in them leaving their corporate jobs in London and launching a new competitively priced Menswear Beachwear brand, bringing quality, well designed swimwear for the most discerning, style conscious men.
Bowler & Beach, created by Matt & BJ Hepworth from Bessacarr, generated part of the funding through the Kickstarter programme which supports bringing business ideas to fruition. Following the launch of their first collection two years later they approached old Hill House school friend James Jones, Marketing Director at award winning, premier fashion boutique Robinsons of Bawtry, to be their first Northern stockist.

Bowler & Beach takes light-hearted British design and adds a touch of Portuguese flair, creating vibrant swim shorts that stand out on the beach for all the right reasons. Matt and BJ spent their childhood summers on the beaches of Portugal’s Algarve. Now, through Bowler & Beach, they’re conveying the colour and excitement that comes with spending a day in the sun with friends and family so well that you can almost smell the sea air. The brothers know that London is one of the world’s design capitals, which is why the distinctive swim shorts are designed right here in the UK capital. When it comes to production, the brothers turned to Northern Portugal, where luxury swim shorts have been made for years on end. Throw in great quality quick-dry fabric, luxury detailed trims and the craftsmanship of Portugal’s most talented, and you’ve got the perfect combination.
The eyecatching prints of their first ‘Animal’ collection, Lobster, Seahorse, Swallow, Elephant, Stag and Octopus, give the stylish and comfortable collection a real edge for ultimate poolside posing from the shores of Santorini to the beaches of the Bahamas.
