Respect Drivers Pageant visits Bawtry! For the previous four years, hundreds of classic, historic and super cars have gathered in the market town of Bawtry with the intention of raising money in aid of the Respect Carer’s Charity. Each year, the event has only increased in size, with an impressive 2500 visitors attending last year’s event. This year, the 5th annual Respect Drivers Pageant, curated by Gordon Tulley of Respect Funeral Services, will be making its return on 27th August. Each year, the event has only increased in size, with an impressive 2500 visitors attending last year’s event. This year, the 5th annual Respect Drivers Pageant, curated by Gordon Tulley of Respect Funeral Services, will be making its return on 27th August. A great family day out for all motor enthusiasts, the Respect Drivers Pageant is expected to surpass the scale of all previous events, with various music performances and entertainment hosted by local bars and restaurants, a range of interesting promotional stalls and even a collection of awards to be handed out!

Throughout the duration of the day, visitors can expect the opportunity to see an incredible display of motor vehicles. Some of which will be offering charity rides! You will be able to experience the speed of a Ferrari, the thrill of a rally car, or the nostalgia of a historic supercar. Head down to Market Hill to take a look at some of the vehicles you can choose to ride in.

The rides will be raising money for the Respect Carer’s Charity, so dig deep and help us raise as much money for the charity as possible, and enjoy the experience!

Please note. Parking will be restricted on Market Hill due to the car display, so visitors will be able to park on the old auction site next to the ESSO garage.

10:00am – The sensational jazz accordionist Jonny Kerry will be performing in The Town House Bar & Restaurant until 12 noon. After which, Old Blue Eyes himself Max Bowker of The Bowkers, will take to the stage! The Town House will have a display of Ferraris outside their venue, along with serving a special Italian menin the restaurant and Italian ice cream from a vintage tricycle too.

10:15am – Don’t miss the Harley Davidson procession which will be thundering through the town, bringing along nursing staff from St John’s Hospice. Make sure to pop down and see them!

10:40am – We have a special celebrity guest joining us for the Respect Drivers Pageant this Bank Holiday Sunday – Come and see them arrive at 10:40am!

From 11:00am, there will be different entertainment at each of three entertainment points marked on the map, which will rotate every 20 minutes.

Also from 11:00am Wilfreda Beehive will be offering Free Classic London Bus Rides until 3:00pm, so join in the fun!

2:00pm – Photo time! Anyone dressed in 1940’s of 1950’s fashion will be asked to join us at The Chase Bar, on Wharf Street for a photo and video opportunity.

2:00pm – We couldn’t forget the Belgian F1 GP is also on at the same time as our prestigious car event! To coincide with this, The White Hart will be showing the race live on the big screens! So nip down to check out that pole position. The White Hart will also have a children’s fun fair in their car park, so bring the kids along.

The Bawtry Cheese Cave willbe setting up their amazing mobile cheese wagon in The White Hart’s car park. So make sure you head there for delicious grilled cheese sandwiches and some other tasty delights to savour!

2:00pm-4:00pm – Entertainment will resume at each of the three entertainment points marked on the map, which will rotate every 20 minutes. So nip along to catch some superb local talent performing right here in Bawtry!

4:00pm – It’s award time! Respect Drivers Pageant will be handing our awards for the following; Best Dressed Lady or Gent, Best Cars, Busiest Drivers and the Best Shop. So make sure you join in the spirit of the day, as one of those awards could be yours!

4:15pm – Have your purses at the ready! The charity auction, with no reserves, will be happening on Market Hill.

4:00-6:00pm – Bawtry’s Bar and Brasserie will have their sensational sax player performing live at their venue, so pop along and continue the party!

The fun doesn’t stop there!

Food and drink will be served all day in and around our retailers. The Gray Rooms will be cookinup a storm on their BBQ, with sausage and from Wilkinsons Butchers, Cherry Blossom Cakes will be open 11:00-3:00pm and will have a delicious selection of fresh cakes treats!

The entertainment will carry on into the evening around the town. Ziniz Restaurant & Wine Bar will have a DJ performing in their courtyard throughout the day, Anastasia Walker from Bang Bang Romeo will be performing an acoustic set at 31 Market Place between 4 and 6:30pm, The Wilson Ellis Band will be performing at The Turnpike from 9pm and much more!

PHEW, what a day this is going to be!
