A SPARKLING SUMMER GIVES WAY TO AN AMAZING AUTUMN

Well where did the summer go?! It seems like just a matter of weeks since we gave you 12 things to in Bawtry this summer and now, we will be looking towards autumn as the children return to school and the iconic St Leger Festival take place in Doncaster.

The St Leger Festival always has a very positive impact in Bawtry too. In the lead up to the festival, there are ladies and gents making last minute preparations, collecting outfits and hats. The St Leger Preview Dinner, the only one of its kind, takes place at the Crown Hotel on Tuesday 12th September where racing pundits share their tips for the days ahead. And, as the racing gets underway racegoers flock each evening to Bawtry to celebrate or commiserate… it just depends!

Business wise there have been a handful of new additions and changes over the summer. Our warmest wishes got to & She Knows as they made a move from the Courtyard to Swan Street. Katherine at Down Quilt House Interiors takes up residence in Dower House Square and Jo Pollard’s Aesthetics offers a number of non surgical skin treatments and is based in Milanda’s. We welcome new owners to The Market Bar and The Town House Bar and Restaurant and El Toro Tapas Bar has opened in the Courtyard. The Gift Box, selling gorgeous cards and gifts, makes a return and can be found in the old Cycle Works premises next to The Town House Bar & Restaurant.

Looking ahead there will a chance to meet Tim Cotterill, ‘The Frogman’ at Limited 2 Art. He will visit the gallery between 6 and 8pm on Tuesday 26th September where his unique, and simply stunning, bronze frog sculptures will be there to enjoy.

Elvis will be back in town on Thursday 28th September as Gordon Hendricks, one of the best tribute acts to the King, takes to the stage at China Rose restaurant as part of its Showtime calendar.

And last, but by no means least, the 25th, Robinsons of Bawtry charity fashion show will take place at China Rose on Sunday 1st October. This annual show has raised over £330,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research since the event began!

Finally, pop a date in your diary! The Bawtry Christmas Event will take place on Sunday 26th November from 12noon until 6pm and will be bigger and better than ever!
