After taking a sabbatical last year, the event which has raised thousands of pounds for local charities, will be held at the Robin Hood Polo Club at Misson and will have a slightly different format to previous years welcoming in visiting clubs including Yorkshire Polo Club teams King William and White Rose, Stag Polo Club from St Albans as well as the home ‘Visit Bawtry’ team.

“This emphasis of this year’s event is top quality polo and a great family atmosphere with spectators encouraged to bring their own picnics and enter their table into the Best Dressed Picnic Table competition” said Ross Jarvie Chair Bawtry Retail Association. “Polo is a really great spectator sport and the atmosphere and camaraderie at our annual polo day means that everyone has a great time, especially if the sun shines!”

Walk in tickets are priced at £5 per person, on-site parking is £10 per car or you can park and picnic for £25 plus £5 entry per person, which will get you a spot right next to the polo field.  A bar will be available and a small selection of outside catering.

“It was a shame that last year’s event had to be cancelled but it has meant that we have been able to reformat the day to make it an event that will appeal to even more people,” said Ross. “We just want as many people as possible to come along and enjoy this high adrenalin sport and to have the opportunity to enjoy one of the oldest ball games in the world, ‘The Game of Kings and the King of Games.  We are also delighted to welcome on board  Ziniz Restaurant & Wine Bar, Bawtry and Hummingbird Helicopters as a match sponsors.”
