The toilets were forced to be closed due to persistent vandalism. The Town Council (BTC) made the difficult decision to close the facilities and return them to DMBC. They have remained abandoned for over 3 years. The group have big plans for these small buildings including a Heritage, Information & Visitor centre, and adult changing facilities. Ross Jarvie Chair of the BRA states “I hope that this project will be a bit

They really do need your support so why not avoid the crowds, the chain stores, the internet and the pressure of Christmas shopping and choose Bawtry as your shopping destination.   Not only

Market Hill Funding Campaign – Enhancing Bawtry’s historic town centre. Bawtry is a small market town, the historic centre of which is dominated by a rather ‘ugly’ car parking arrangement that, necessarily, has to serve as a shared vehicular/pedestrian space. The car park is essential for the town’s viability, as no suitable alternative provision can be found, but its presence detracts from the attractiveness of the central conservation area. The town is also rich in history dating back to the Roman times and a recently formed Heritage Group aims to bring that rich history alive again. There is currently a small Heritage Centre within the Community Library and a Heritage Trail is being created, which includes the market cross on Market Hill. The Town Council is proposing to carry out improvement works to the central Market Hill area but the lack of alternative parking, together with financial constraints, limit what

Remembrance Service On Remembrance Sunday, 2008 (Bawtry) Squadron Air Training Corps paraded to pay tribute to all those who laid down their lives in service for our country. We were humbled by the response from the local community, many of whom watched us march to St Nicholas Church, and packed the church with standing room only. The tribute, led by Rev Jonathan Strickland, remembered with sadness the fallen, but also celebrated the peace that followed, and the continued efforts over the years to maintain this around the world. The ‘There but Not There’ silhouettes, brought into the church by the Squadron, were a poignant reminder, not only of those who died, but also those who do not exist because of those deaths. Following this, we marched along Bawtry High Street to Bawtry Hall, the former home of No1 Group Bomber Command, where a Service of Commemoration and laying of wreaths

Charlie, 9, was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy at just four months old and his family are now raising funds to purchase a state of the art Neater Eater, and an adapted disabled bike which will assist Charlie with his everyday life. “It is our pleasure to be able to help people in our community and support this family in their quest to raise the required £9,000,” said Ross Jarvie Chair Bawtry Retail Association. “Charlie is a happy fun loving boy with the most amazing smile and we wish him and his lovely family continued success and happiness.”
As BitCoin, the virtual currency continues to grow in popularity and value, an iconic Yorkshire designer fashion boutique is now accepting it in payment. Robinsons of Bawtry, South Yorkshire is pioneering its payment in the town just as the closure of its only remaining bank, NatWest, has been announced. “We are always keen to support our customers with an enhanced range of services and adopting this new ‘currency’ will perhaps help to fill the hole for some of our customer demographic created by the removal of traditional banking methods from the town.”  said Russell Jones Robinsons of Bawtry. “This is just another way in which we adapt to new ways of purchasing and complements the recent introduction of our Interest Free Credit option.” To use BitCoin in store customers should simply choose their goods and payment will be taken at whatever the exchange rate is at the time of purchase.

What can you do with £15pm?

The moment inspiration strikes, oddly enough sat in my local Costa sipping on a Billionaires latte (it’s delicious by the way), however, to drink them frequently you may need to be a millionaire 1 medium Billionaire latte at my local Costa will set you back £3.60 each so if you had one a week that would be £187.20 per year or £15.60 per month. I love my coffee so will absorb the costs of my mildly extortionate habit on a weekly basis but it got me thinking what else could I do with £15 per month? As a non smoking healthy 30 year old female this could get me £549,287 of life insurance guaranteed until age 55 provided I paid the premiums on a monthly basis. That is a serious amount when it comes to life insurance if I was to die that would repay the mortgage, pay for the boys

In spite of this, there are clear and constant truths that only belong to Paul and his audience; he has an innate ability as a storyteller that enthralls those who have come to know and love his work. Please pop along to meet Paul, see & hear about his fantastic work! Find out more about Paul on the Limited 2 Art Facebook Events page: https://www.facebook.com/events/111275416223306

Kicking us off this year we have a few businesses providing food, drinks and entertainment. – The White Hart will be having a group of ponies (from Horse World) on Tickhill Road complete with antlers and red noses! The ponies will be giving children little rides around the town with the route still to be decided upon. – Roger Tuby will be hosting a fun fair in the White Hart car park which is perfect for the kids. There will also be a steak and venison food van in the car park as well so if you’re hungry
Set in the 1930’s this is a fascinating combination of mystery play and psychological study. It shows how the gradual revelation of the truth about a murdered man disrupts his family and friends and shows them up for the rotters they are.
