Plans for the 25th Robinsons of Bawtry Annual Charity Fashion Show are well underway with the event set to be extra special to celebrate the events Silver anniversary. The team at the award winning designer fashion boutique will once again put on a fantastic evening at the China Rose, Bawtry on Sunday 1st October 2017 where guests will enjoy a taste of its Autumn/Winter collections, brought to life by models, with amazingly choreographed scenes, from Doncaster based company Strutz Models & Dance Academy. “We can’t quite believe that this is our 25th sell out fashion show that was created by the boutiques original owner Tony Robinson in memory of his first wife who he lost to cancer, and we have been delighted to continue with the event since we obtained ownership of the boutique 8 years ago” said Russell Jones Robinsons of Bawtry. Respect Drivers Pageant Bawtry
Respect Drivers Pageant visits Bawtry! For the previous four years, hundreds of classic, historic and super cars have gathered in the market town of Bawtry with the intention of raising money in aid of the Respect Carer’s Charity. Each year, the event has only increased in size, with an impressive 2500 visitors attending last year’s event. This year, the 5th annual Respect Drivers Pageant, curated by Gordon Tulley of Respect Funeral Services, will be making its return on 27th August. A great family day out for all motor enthusiasts, the Respect Drivers Pageant is expected to surpass the scale of all previous events, with various music performances and entertainment hosted by local bars and restaurants, a range of interesting promotional stalls and even a collection of awards to be handed out! Throughout the duration of the day, visitors can expect the opportunity to see an incredible display of motor vehicles.

Just one year ago, a popular Bawtry art gallery relocated to stunning 400 sq metre premises with over 50 loyal customers forming a human chain to move the works of art from the old gallery to the new one across a busy main road. A Doncaster business man is drumming up support for a local music festival as once again the marriage of caravans and music is set to achieve great things! Spring is definitely in the air and we’ve got a few things to tell you about so that you can make the best of Brilliant Bawtry! Firstly, there have been a few changes afoot lately on how we share news with you. The launch of our fantastic new website www.visitbawtry.com will see a great forum with information and news about our retailers and the town to keep you up to speed. And our Facebook page and other social media platforms have enjoyed something of an overhaul meaning more information is shared that way too! A partnership between Doncaster Racecourse and Bawtry Retail Association has attracted record numbers to the Spring Ladies Evening event at the Town Moor course last month. Men’s swimwear is vastly under represented and whilst on a holiday in Ibiza in 2014 two brothers from Doncaster decided to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test resulting in them leaving their corporate jobs in London and launching a new competitively priced Menswear Beachwear brand, bringing quality, well designed swimwear for the most discerning, style conscious men. Bowler & Beach, created by Matt & BJ Hepworth from Bessacarr, generated part of the funding through the Kickstarter programme which supports bringing business ideas to fruition. Now in its fifth year the annual Bawtry Fashion Week has once again proved a huge hit with visitor numbers to the town soaring during the event. Retailers hosted fashion events and promotions with Ladies Fashion Boutique Yasmine of Bawtry’s Joseph Ribkoff Fashion Show seeing over 80 ladies view the latest collections for the season.  And, for the first time, the newly relocated art gallery Limited 2 Art hosted and offered the perfect back drop for the inaugural VIVA fashion show with owner Ruth taking to the catwalk! The Crown Hotel created a delicious BFW fizz cocktail with sales recorded at well over a hundred and a BFW Facebook competition to win prizes over £220 was won by Mark Galsworthy of Bawtry. Welcome to 2017 –  and members of the Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. During 2016, Bawtry as a town and BRA enjoyed a very prosperous year which saw us host and celebrate lots of fantastic events and occasions. Perhaps the most iconic was the day that the Tour de Yorkshire swept through the town. Bedecked in yellow and blue; residents, businesses and visitors flocked to the town to celebrate this most amazing event! We also enjoyed Bawtry Fashion Week, our annual Visit Bawtry Race Day at Doncaster Racecourse, the Visit Bawtry Charity Polo Cup which raised an amazing amount of money once again and we wrapped up the year with a spectacular Christmas event, with the help from our friends at One Call Insurance, Wilfreda Beehive and Bawtry Town Council,  which saw unprecedented amounts of visitors flock to the town.

Two local business people who work in the picturesque town of Bawtry on the North Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire border are taking over the reins of its Retail Association (BRA). Ross Jarvie, partner at Fine & Country and Sarah White, proprietor of Bawtry Eye Academy will assume the positions of Chair and Vice Chair respectively, taking over from Rebecca Dickenson proprietor at award winning salon The Vanilla Rooms. “I have worked in Bawtry for almost a decade and love the tight knit feel of a small village mixed with the cosmopolitan buzz of city life,” said Ross. “I hope to build on the successes that we have achieved so far and drive Bawtry forward as a destination for both day and night, not just regionally but nationally too.
