Well, the first half of the year has simply flown by, but we’re pleased to say there is much to look forward to in the early part of the Summer.

With so many of us being unbelievable busy we are challenging you to enjoy what’s on your doorstep this Summer and support your local independent retailer.  Pop into Bawtry for all your everyday needs or perhaps find the perfect outfit for the races or a summer BBQ. And, when you get a precious spare hour or so, visit one of the town’s stylish bars or fantastic individual cafes or restaurants. Stay local this summer and enjoy all what beautiful Bawtry has to offer.

We kick off July with the return of the Visit Bawtry Charity Polo Cup which will take place on Sunday 1st July at Robin Hood Polo Club at Misson which is shaping up to be a fantastic day. More information can be found here.

Staying with sport it seems like you can’t escape the World Cup!  Embracing the inevitable, Yorkshire Caravan of Bawtry is hosting a World Cup themed summer show from 30th June  to 8th July. Packed with special offers, demonstrations, football themed family activities and games it’s well worth popping down.

Almost coinciding with their second anniversary in their fantastic new gallery on Market Place, Limited 2 Art will be hosting its next ‘Meet the Artist’ event on 14th July. A fabulous opportunity to meet the lady who joined the circus at 14 – Entertainer & Artist Jean Picton.

And, in a first for the town, Charles Hanson known for his appearance on TV’s Bargain Hunt, is hosting a valuation event at St Nicholas Church, Bawtry 11am – 3pm on Monday July 16th. It’s all being hosted for the Doncaster branch of MIND and to try and help a local boy, Charlie, gain some specialist equipment.

The restoration of Bawtry Hall has been a much talked about event in the town as it has been transformed into a new and exclusive venue for weddings, celebrations and events. The team are delighted to open their doors on the first Thursday of every month for a beautifully informal wedding showcase; join them between 5 and 8pm. No appointment necessary.

There are some new places to explore and enjoy too including a newly refurbished downstairs cellar bar which is accessed by the steps down from the terrace at 31 Market Place which offers a Wine & Champagne lounge and eatery. And for fashionistas, Sorrento boutique has opened on the High Street (in the premises where VIVA was) and AsPromised is now open by appointment at 16 Swan Street.

Finally, whilst it seems like summer has only just started, we are already planning this year’s Christmas Event.   It will be held on Sunday 25th November and if you are interested in having a stall email bawtrychristmasstalls@gmail.com
