A partnership between Doncaster Racecourse and Bawtry Retail Association has attracted record numbers to the Spring Ladies Evening event at the Town Moor course last month. A racecard, sponsored entirely by businesses from the popular market town,  attracted record crowds in its 5th year and fashionistas flocked to the event with the hope of being chosen as the Best Dressed Lady of the evening and getting a fast track pass to the St Leger Ladies Day Best Dressed Lady Competition in September. “Our thanks go to the Bawtry businesses who supported our event and attended in their droves to enjoy the racing and help us choose the Best Dressed Lady of the evening which was awarded to Zoe Mulligan,” said Rebecca Burton Commercial Manager Doncaster Racecourse. “It is always great when we can theme the race days and Visit Bawtry were the perfect fit for Ladies Evening. Bowler & Beach, created by Matt & BJ Hepworth from Bessacarr, generated part of the funding through the Kickstarter programme which supports bringing business ideas to fruition. Following the launch of their first collection two years later they approached old Hill House school friend James Jones, Marketing Director at award winning, premier fashion boutique Robinsons of Bawtry, to be their first Northern stockist. “This is a fantastic concept and the high quality of the brand enables it to sit comfortably with established boutique menswear brands such as Boss and Ralph Lauren,” said

Welcome to 2017 –  and members of the Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. During 2016, Bawtry as a town and BRA enjoyed a very prosperous year which saw us host and celebrate lots of fantastic events and occasions. Perhaps the most iconic was the day that the Tour de Yorkshire swept through the town. Bedecked in yellow and blue; residents, businesses and visitors flocked to the town to celebrate this most amazing event! We also enjoyed Bawtry Fashion Week, our annual Visit Bawtry Race Day at Doncaster Racecourse, the Visit Bawtry Charity Polo Cup which raised an amazing amount of money once again and we wrapped up the year with a spectacular Christmas event, with the help from our friends at One Call Insurance, Wilfreda Beehive and Bawtry Town Council,  which saw unprecedented amounts of visitors flock to the town.
A group of retailers and businesses in the market town of Bawtry near Doncaster, South Yorkshire continue their efforts to promote their town as they pledge their support to ‘Small Business Saturday’ which takes place on Saturday 3rd December. Businesses across the town which are members of Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) will recognise the annual event with many businesses also being members of the Federation of Small Businesses and the local Chamber of Commerce both of whom support the initiative. “Bawtry is a destination waiting to be discovered and enjoys a host of small businesses who work autonomously but also together to achieve even greater aspirations,” said Ross Jarvie Chair Bawtry Retail Association. “Bawtry has evolved from a historic market town to a place that’s packed with high quality shops, designer fashion, art galleries, stylish bars and fantastic individual restaurants. By day, shoppers and workers mingle with those going about

Ross Jarvie, partner at Fine & Country and Sarah White, proprietor of Bawtry Eye Academy will assume the positions of Chair and Vice Chair respectively, taking over from Rebecca Dickenson proprietor at award winning salon The Vanilla Rooms. “I have worked in Bawtry for almost a decade and love the tight knit feel of a small village mixed with the cosmopolitan buzz of city life,” said Ross. “I hope to build on the successes that we have achieved so far and drive Bawtry forward as a destination for both day and night, not just regionally but nationally too. I also  thank Rebecca wholeheartedly for all her work, and for providing a solid platform from which I can now lead.” From its inception
