RETAILERS PARTNER WITH RACECOURSE TEAM TO HOST HUGELY SUCCESSFUL EVENT

A partnership between Doncaster Racecourse and Bawtry Retail Association has attracted record numbers to the Spring Ladies Evening event at the Town Moor course last month. A racecard, sponsored entirely by businesses from the popular market town,  attracted record crowds in its 5th year and fashionistas flocked to the event with the hope of being chosen as the Best Dressed Lady of the evening and getting a fast track pass to the St Leger Ladies Day Best Dressed Lady Competition in September. “Our thanks go to the Bawtry businesses who supported our event and attended in their droves to enjoy the racing and help us choose the Best Dressed Lady of the evening which was awarded to Zoe Mulligan,” said Rebecca Burton Commercial Manager Doncaster Racecourse. “It is always great when we can theme the race days and Visit Bawtry were the perfect fit for Ladies Evening.

We very much look forward to next year.”

Sponsors during the evening were the Crown Hotel, Fine & Country, China Rose, Ziniz, Deluxe Hair & Beauty, Origin Broadband and Eastside Magazine.  Bawtry businesses, accompanied with friends and guests, enjoyed the evening from the Conduit Suite in the Lazarus Stand and were entertainment by local vocal group The Bowkers which created a real party atmosphere and the party continued back in Bawtry after racing.

“Getting all our member businesses together for such a fantastic night is a great team building event and one that continues to grow and prosper,” said Ross Jarvie Chair Bawtry Retail Association. “Huge congratulations go to Alex Calzini of Ziniz Restaurant and Wine Bar who was not only celebrating his 50th birthday but also his wedding anniversary with his lovely wife Julie.  He had to resort though to wearing his flip flops after completing the London Marathon just days before!”
