Ladies Day at the St Leger Festival each September is one of the most iconic days in the Doncaster racing calendar and this year a new meeting in April will officially launch the event.

Saturday 29th April will see Bawtry Retail Association host Ladies Night at Doncaster Racecourse – the 6th Visit Bawtry Race Day –  where a host of sponsors from the affluent market town will join forces to highlight the town and the status of Ladies Day at the St Leger continuing the long term partnership between Doncaster Racecourse and Bawtry Retail Association.

“Our Visit Bawtry Race Day has become one of the highlights of the racing calendar and we look forward to working with the Doncaster Racecourse team to make this a really great occasion,” said Ross Jarvie Chair Bawtry Retail Association. “This year we have some new sponsors who will get to enjoy the glitz and glamour that goes with a being a race sponsor.”

Bawtry businesses sponsoring races this year are Crown Hotel, China Rose, Fine and Country and new supporters Origin Broadband, Deluxe Hair & Beauty Lounge, Ziniz Restaurant & Wine Bar and Eastside Magazine. During the evening the ‘Best Dressed Lady’ will also receive a fast track to the St Leger Festival Ladies Day competition and a host of pop up stalls from Bawtry retailers will be present for racegoers to enjoy.

“We are delighted with the new format of this year’s Visit Bawtry Race Evening and shall enjoy the entire event,” said Ross. “We look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces as well as introducing race-goers to all that Bawtry has to offer, and Bawtry visitors and residents to the delights of horse racing in Doncaster.”

The evening will conclude with an after-racing party in Bawtry where restaurants and bars will be supporting the event. Further details will be available closer to the date.

Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) is a member organisation of businesses and retailers in the town and currently has over 70 members.  They work together to promote the town, attract visitors and business investment and host a calendar of events throughout the year.
