Lockdown: One year on

A year ago today the country was put under the first national lockdown; little did we know that our hopes, aspiration and normal lives and routines would be quashed indefinitely.

During that time only a very small amount of our businesses have been able to open periodically, and it’s been incredibly hard for them, and for our visitors and residents, who have been unable to enjoy the delights that Bawtry has to offer.

One thing that hasn’t been quashed though is the community spirit; our business community has supported each other wherever possible and now, they are all excitedly getting ready for 12th April.

We’ve missed our wonderful events, particularly Christmas, the towns buzzing atmosphere and everyone who makes the town so special.

Now, we have to look forward with hope and enthusiasm. We look forward to welcoming back weddings and celebrations to the town – we do them so well! And let’s not forget those all-important everyday life things that we have missed so much such as girls shopping trips, beauty and hair appointments, coffee and lunch with friends, date nights, girls nights, family nights, in fact any excuse for a night out at all!

We cannot tell you how much we are looking forward to Bawtry coming alive once more with the sound of laughter and memory making. It’s what it’s all about after all.
