Thousands of visitors flocked to the picturesque market town of Bawtry, near Doncaster, to enjoy the delights of its Christmas Spectacular which took place on the 25th November 2018.
For the fifth year in a row, the Christmas event saw the town’s retail association host another stunning festive celebration. Enveloping the towns main street and quaint courtyards with stalls, fairground rides and a visit from Father Christmas and his elves. The community came together and celebrated as a whole. The streets of Bawtry were filled with live music, festive spirits, fun and laughter, with additional visits from Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s Polar Bear Santa, Donny Dog and Santa Paws.
Christmas Cheer All Around Bawtry
“We had an absolutely amazing day and want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who played their part in making it so special for all our visitors including our sponsors & supporters: One Call Insurance, Bawtry Town Council, Wilfreda Beehive and Bawtry Air Cadets” said Ross Jarvie Chair Bawtry Retail Association.
“One of the highlights of the day was the return of the Ferris Wheel, which Bawtry Town Council kindly sponsored and staffed throughout the day keeping lots of children and their families happy whilst visitors also enjoyed the newest attraction to the event the Star Flyer Swing ride. The Womack’s Christmas window caused much excitement as a record crowd filled the streets and cheered & clapped as the window was unveiled to reveal yet another visual masterpiece which would rival displays in any major city including London”.
“The town looked incredible and it was fantastic to see such spirit and camaraderie amongst all Bawtry businesses and retailers making the day very special for all our visitors” said Ross Jarvie.
Christmas Period Continues
Bawtry businesses will remain in the Christmas spirit with late night openings, festive treats at cafes, bars and restaurants as well as being a superb place to find amazing Christmas gifts for friends and family. Details of opening hours and offers can be found from individual retailers.
Bawtry Retail Association (BRA) is a member organisation of businesses and retailers in the town. They work together to promote the town, attract visitors and business investment and host a calendar of events throughout the year.
The town’s retailers range from designer clothing boutiques for all the family, art galleries, gift shops, home accessories and specialist food outlets.
