In 1987, R. Bates Shoes at 10 High Street Bawtry, was founded by Gary & his father Reginald Bates. In 1992 the store was rebranded to Bawtry Shoe Company remaining as a business run by the Bates family to this date. Whilst Bawtry remains the Head Office they also have a second store in Newark.
A family-run business, it is headed up by husband & wife team Gary & Suzanne Bates. This remains one of the few independent footwear retailers in the Midlands and North of England, specialising in high-quality Ladies & Men’s shoes and boots stocking brands such as HB Shoes, Rieker,Van Dal, Ara, Geox, Steptronic, Lunar and many more.
