Bawtry Retailers Calling on Locals to Support Trade in the Town This Christmas

The wonderful market town of Bawtry near Doncaster has long been a mecca for shoppers who enjoy the independent shopping experience, but the advent of the internet and the ease this brings, has meant that retailers in the town are more than ever in need of support from the local community. This is the second year that the town has encouraged its retailers to get on board and 2019 is set to be even more successful with more participants who have thought about ways in which they can support this international initiative.

The wonderful market town of Bawtry near Doncaster has long been a mecca for shoppers who enjoy the independent shopping experience, but the advent of the internet and the ease this brings, has meant that retailers in the town are more than ever in need of support from the local community.

With visitor numbers to the town declining retailers in the town want to remind people just what they offer and that without their support the town may struggle to survive which will ultimately mean your local shops will be gone.

Ross Jarvie, Chair of Bawtry Retail Association commented; “Some businesses are beginning to consider their long-term future in the town and that is incredibly disheartening. They really do need your support so why not avoid the crowds, the chain stores, the internet and the pressure of Christmas shopping and choose Bawtry as your shopping destination.   Not only is it perfect for gift shopping you can also find Christmas food and drink treats, places to be pampered and socialise with friends and family.”
